Minecraft login help!?

I've just made a minecraft account about an hour ago and I have purchased minecraft but the pocket edition. The problem is when I go to sign in on minecraft.net it says username or password is invalid, I have to sign in by my username but it won't let me sign in? Is this a problem such as waiting a certain amount of time and my account will be set? Or is this something completely different? I could use some help please! Any sort of advise will help!

Assuming pocket edition accounts are the same as regular accounts, of which I'm not sure, you need to use your email address instead of your username to log in.
