Should a 13 year old have an iPhone?

Doesn't matter what everyone else thinks. If you are relying on your parents to pay for it then it is up to them wether they get you one or not. I think that 13 is a bit young for an iPhone - its an expensive bit of kit. Not only that, i have an iPhone but Imo there are better phones on the market (with better specs) if you just look that are cheaper. Apple have this annoying habit of having the technology to make their phones better but stalling it in order to generate more profit.

Maybe get a touch instead, or ask for a different phone?

Well, I'm 13 and have an iPhone 4 and it's better than my mom's phone (my mom doesn't care either, nor does my dad). My dad and I got a special deal from Verizon where we traded in our old phones for 2 iPhones... FOR FREE!!! My phone was broken and wasn't usable, whilst my dad's was half broken (loooong story). Maybe tell your parents about that if you have Verizon. I think it's OK for 13 year old to have an iPhone as long as they don't get sucked into it and have it control their lives. Anyway, good luck!
