If your 10 and 8 year old were victims of a sex crime...?
...would you open up their own Facebook (or any other social network) page for them and not secure the privacy??

This is just bothering me and thought id ask here, but i know this family who accused a man for sexually assaulting their 2 oldest children. The man accused of doing the crime is an acquaintance, but he's a family man, who worked full time and part time jobs on the side.

Anyhow, i just can't understand why the father of the children would set up a social network page for both his daughters. Not only are both under the age of 13 ( which FB's policy is 13 and over and it isn't the first time he has set up fraudulent accounts, utility accounts etc) but doesn't fix their privacy to where only friends can see pics etc. I have visited their page on my sisters fb, (they aren't on each others list) and you can see pictures, mostly selfies of them posing, kissing the camera, etc.

Now, I am friends with this family, but along with other things that i have seen, that just seems off, i just don't understand why he would let them have their own fb page that is not set to private, to where strangers (especially known or unknown offenders) can view them, and contact them. Cause i know if it were my children, first i would wait till they are of age and IF i do decide they can have a FB page, i would make damn sure its private.

Am i over thinking??? And please no rude or sarcastic answers, if you don't have a proper opinion or answer, then please do not waste your time.
Big Sean - My concern isn't whether they are breaking the law with opening up a fb page. (it wouldn't be breaking the law,but FB policies)My point was if your child was a victem of a sex crime, would you allow, or open a fb account for your victimized children where other unknown offenders can access their pics & info & contact them?

It is my business if their safety is at risk. This father is making pics of his girls available to EVERYONE. Why would he want to risk the safety of them AGAIN!!

Personally, I think 8 is too young for FB and to be taking camera kissing selfies.

It sounds very disturbing, nevertheless, they aren't breaking the law. I suppose you can report them to FaceBook, but it's really none of your business. If they start breaking the law, then you can take your concerns to the police. Unfortunately, irresponsible parenting isn't always a crime.
