How do I limit old posts to "Custom" settings in Facebook?

I am trying to limit old posts to certain friends only, which I've chosen in the "custom" setting for future posts, but I'm trying to change it for previous posts as well. I know choosing the "limit old posts" button changes all posts to be viewable by friends, but I don't want every friend seeing all past posts.

I want my "Custom" setting to be applied to old posts. How can I do this short of changing each one (of hundreds!) individually?

there is no way to automatically do that to all posts - your only option would be to go to your activity log and go thru them one by one and change them
