Is it possible my girlfriends profile and pictures were stolen for a dating site?

I found her profile on Shagaholic.com, a sex adult dating site. She was listed as single and claimed it was from before we were together. She said the profile had been stolen from another dating site. I got into the account and found there were chat emails sent from there, but she denied involvement, and she did write them and had the profile removed, although it still pops up under google. I did find out later that there are a lot of fake profiles there, and emails there but I may never know the truth. It hurt and bothered me very much because I want to trust her. She insists that she wants me and only me. So I'm wondering if it's possible this happened with her, stolen identity, photos, etc. Should I try to trust her? I do love her very much and we just moved in together a few months ago. Thanks for any help...

If she has not given you any reason not to trust her, then trust her
Loads of people have their profile pictures stolen and posted on dating sites. A friend of mine in the military found at least 40 profiles on dating sites using pictures stolen off his Facebook page. He has never been on a dating site in his life but scammers have used his pictures to set up fake dating profiles.
