Who knows what goes on a guy's mind (if anything)? Nobody here can really tell what's in the boyfriend's mind and, in fact, you probably can't tell for sure either. So, what should you think then? It sounds like a strange thing that he did. Maybe it's valid and harmless in his mind but, again, there's no way to know that for sure, so it all comes down to a couple of things...

Do you trust him? What he did isn't a real good move for establishing or keeping your trust but the bottom line is still whether YOU trust him. If so, it's OK. If not, it's not OK. If you're not sure, you should talk to him about it, which may or may not get you his point of view and that may tell you more about whether you do or should trust him... If he won't discuss it you get into the other thing, which is...

Whether his actions are well motivated or not, do those actions give you or allow you to have what you need? If he has a lovely explanation but you still can't find yourself trusting him, then you're not getting what you need. Or if he won't discuss it but you aren't comfortable until you understand what it's about, then you're also not getting what you need... If you feel fine and secure after you try and talk it out, then things may be great.

I'd say see if you can find out a little more about what's going on, but then decide how you really feel -- and keep your needs in mind when make the decision. Good luck!

If he says "we don't need facebook" how come he has deleted you?? has he deleted his account too??
If he still has his account and yours is deleted then I would be concerned about that.
