Despite of repeated attacks on the search engine optimization industry, from across the verticals, seo is very much in business and will remain so. What Google and other web spam specialists are doing is separating the weed from the chaff, which was long overdue.

SEO is not dead?
My industry is Testing and Tagging of portable electrical equipment,
When "testing and tagging Sydney" is entered into Google you get a lot of rubbish on first page I mean you get pages for operators in Perth and other non specific items on first page,So Google has a way to go with its black hat white hat stuff.
My site http://www.testntagsydney.com will always need work but there is only so much information available and very little new stuff.
All my prospective clients need is contact details, not a lesson in occupational health and safety.
I am sure other industry specific searches are the same. Sometimes when I use industry specific terms I am lucky to get one provider on the first page.
