eBay Problem with Seller?
Hey,

I purchased an item off a seller on eBay a few months ago for £310.

The item itself cost £300 and the postage cost £10.

The item arrived extremely late and I was promised a refund of £10 from the seller for the delays.

I still haven't received any type of refund or compensation and the seller has now deactivated their account.

How would I go about getting my £10 refund if possible?

I've messaged eBay support before about another issue, but never got a reply.

Suggestions please?
I had also previously opened a dispute on this seller because the item had not arrived - therefore, I was unable to open another one about this problem.

Use eBay's resolution center for this. The seller's funds from your transaction will be frozen until he responds.

Hopefully, the communication promising you the ten pound refund was made through eBay and not an outside email address.

(re update 1), unfortunately, that's eBay for you. You may also want to try eBay's discussion boards, either seller central or buyer central. But be ready to be berated by unfriendly sellers. Just ignore the haters and be thick-skinned.

It's £10 sucks to be you......... it's not like they owe you anything for delays they had a change of heart. Did you get your product? does it work? was their any loss of income because of the delay(such as you needed it for a childs party that you ended up having to cancel because of not receiving this one item)....

but yeah not worth the trouble for £10

I've heard many such negative comments about eBay coz what they do is fraud the people of their money. Private losers upload images of used products and sell them at high prices. Prefer other sites that don't accept return of products coz that sounds genuine! Good luck. Try calling them up and complain about the product maker/id/account of whom you purchased it from.

"and the seller has now deactivated their account"

There is NOTHING eBay is going to do for you now. You are limited to 45 days to open any dispute. Chances are good eBay kicked them off for complaints. You can forget about that ten pounds.
