Should i add him on fb if he is really shy?

So i went to this conference & i was with this group of ppl from my city. I got to know this one guy in my group. He's a loner & doesn't talk to anyone or like to hang out with our group. He's the older brother of one of my friends (he's 2 yrs older than me & we're both in hs). so one night i decided that i didn't feel like dancing at one of the parties &went outside & started talking to him, waiting for the dance to be over. He's nice and stuff, its just that he doesn't start conversations. I kind of like him but idk if i should talk to him over the summer b/c he is my friend's older brother. I also don't have his number & was wondering if i should add him on fb & chat w/ him sometimes. What do you guys think?

I think you should add him on fb and start a conversation. After a few times chatting he will start conversations too
