Post Title vs Page Title: Which is more important for SEO?
I am using Wordpress for my site. I want to name the page title (<title>Page Title</title>) different from the Post Title. If I name the page title something really optimized but the post title something short and sweet would this make my site less SEO optimized then naming the post title the same as the page title?

Page title is quite important rather post title
e.g http://dmoz.org.in/ does not have any post title but working on page title and hosting script is same i.e word-press.

Anyways you can use All in SEO word press plug ins
Or you can changes in via Appearance-----> theme--> Header file

Hope it will helps!

Post title is more important than page title.
The wordpress blogs when indexed, we usually see that it is not the page title that is displayed but instead it is the post title.
So it is very important that a blog has good post title , which will also help in getting good positions in the search engines.
There are many such important key points on seo, which you can find at:

Both page title and post title are equally important.
SE takes into consideration both. Some blogs will show that post title into its search engine listing.

Page title is the one that is indexed when SE claw your site

For ex, let do a quick search http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&clien...tnG=Search then you will see in the result, Google index the page title "Affordable SEO Services | Blog promotion tips ...", not the post title "SEO|SEM services - Hire us!"

Hope this help

not exactly! the main thing is that the title should be descriptive and user friendly. A title like
keyword1 - keyword2 -keyword3
wont do any good.
