can i call a restaurant to speak to a waiter?
So i was just at golden corral and i met this guy at the cashier stand and we chatted a bit. He asked for me to add him on fb but i couldn't find him. basically my question is if i was to call the restaurant would they allow me to speak to him if i asked? Or would that put his job in jeopardy?
If so is there something i could say, like "i believe i accidentally left something with a waiter by the name of______ _____, i need to speak to him to make sure beforehand so i can come pick it up later" or something a bit more believable so i can talk to him again and get his number. That's a bit much, i know! But i don't want to get someone fired!

Maybe say you'd like to personally thank him for the great service he provided you.
That would be a compliment to him & management

A Manager isn't going to pull a server from the floor to take a personal phone call. Even if you lie and say it's for great service or because you forgot something, the manager or the host is going to handle it.

You can't find him on fb. It's over. If you go in or start calling, you will look like a stalker. If he's your server next time you go in, tell him you tried to find him on fb but you couldn't and clear things up.

Move on.

Don't get him in trouble, geez. If you must call just ask to leave a message and have him call you back.
