COST OF AN IPAD?
My partners parents are considering an ipad, they have no internet connection at home and are not keen on paying a monthly fee for internet. Can you have an ipad and use it without paying a monthly fee. If so who with, what is the cheapest monthly fee and who with, I thought it was about £10 which they said is too much!

Many thanks

Go to some coffee shop or hotel or airport or public building and use the free Internet WiFi there. Of course, that means the iPad will be open to anyone else's connection while there.
Without knowing where in the world (or UK & Ireland?) this iPad would be used, how could anyone tell what is the least expensive connection? Use your brain.

They can use their hotspot on their mobiles phones to connect the ipad to the net , depending on the contract they have with vodafone orange O2 or whoever they use.
I have unlimited with orange so doesn't cost anything for me.
They could change their package to suit their budget.

Couple of things.
-Yes you can get an ipad without having to pay monthly fee (data plan). However this means that in order to go online, they would need to go somewhere with free wifi (like mcdonalds/starbucks)
-In order to activate an ipad, it HAS TO be connected to a computer that has itunes installed on it.
-ipads/most tablets are pretty lackluster without internet access

some apps will require wifi or some type of data, but for most apps, it will work offline. so if you ever want to download an app, you will have to find a place where theres free wifi and use it so you can acess the app store and download the app. the cost for an ipad if you want to know is around $500.
