I like this boy but im way too shy?

So last year, freshmen year I liked this boy and he would start conversations with me and ask me "so are you Cuban" and ill say "no im Dominican" and he would nod and smile, I remember him asking that same question again some other time but I would just nod and keep the conversation short when I knew I still wanted it to keep on going on and on. He would cheer me on when I was too shy to go up for class presentations and stuff. I like him a lot and don't even talk to him which is so weird. Idk I want to stop liking him, I tried but I cant. I want to find a way to talk to him, this year sophomore year he doesn't have any of my classes but he does follow me on twitter, he usually does this "dm me an emoji and ill say something about you" stuff I thought about trying to do it but I chicken out of it. I just want to find a way for us to talk or something. But he likes really pretty girls and im just there and idk help
