Tumblr users, why do you hate puns?

Okay so not all users are like this, but these are some common reactions I see when someone makes a pun:

Get out (by far the most common response).
Did you just?
I'm so done with this website.
Please go away.
That was terrible.
You didn't.
I want you to leave.
Are you proud of that joke because no one else is.

It's not just truly bad and old puns, there seems to be a good percentage of users that detest all forms of puns. I'm on Tumblr myself and I like puns, but don't get why some users act like a war crime has been committed when a pun is made.

Puns are sometimes referred to as "groaners," for the reason that they have caused eye-rolling for many centuries. It's not just on Tumblr.

Some people on tumblr think its cool to not finish their sentences properly and not use correct, grammatical sentences. I think it is an excuse to shout all these popular phrases as a way to become "one of the kool kidz". Just another thing, it's also pretty common for them to write sentences likE tHIS BECAUSE THEY THINK IT IS FUNNY. (which it isn't). Basically, it's a way of getting popularity and it is cheap.
