instagram vs flickr?
so i have account in both sites and i can say i still love both. what i love for instagram is its community, what i love for flickr is image size. so the thing is that i used to be a bit famous on flickr and i stopped using it because of instagram. whats more in order to get famous in instagram you have to have an iphone and not everyone can afford that. so what should i do stay on instagram or move to flickr. btw ill by my first dslr in a couple of months.

If you are interested in being "famous" (for whatever that is worth) stick with Instagram. If you wish to advance as a photographer stick with Flickr and seek out knowledgeable critiques.

I use both, Flickr for all my good shots and then Instagram for some specially picked shots. I don't have an iPhone and all the pictures on my Instagram are done with my DSLR. I also have friends who use Android who use Instagram, so your statement was false.

Most of instagram is garbage (I would have said "all", but recently a very good professional joined it, just to promote his stuff), so even if you get "famous" that doesn't equate to being "respected" or even "good".

Flickr is somewhat more reputable, but the way to get "famous" on there is through kissing the posterior regions of other contributors, not through actually being any good.

So take your pick. You're competing against every man, his dog, and his dog's puppies.

A hint: being famous outside the confines of a website takes a lot of work and/or a lot of luck.
