why is my ex doing this?

I was with my ex boyfriend for 4 months we recently split as things were not working out.. I had previously split with him after two months and I saw my previous ex of 5 years we had a lot of history and he ended our relationship last summer. however he has never really left me alone as when he knew I was seeing someone else he kept messaging me and trying to add me as a friend on fb. anyway I cannot get my head around this my ex of 5 years yesterday emailed me saying that he had checked out my ex fb profile and he has moved on all loved up how quick to get over me etc.. so I replied he is been blocked by me ,, my ex came back & said that I had thrown away everything for a guy who I could not be friends with.. I still have a lot of feeling for my ex he keeps contacting me last week he sent me a link to a record we both liked . then this morning he said that its all for the best e found our relationship frustrating.. I don't really know why he keeps contacting me can anyone give me their opinion?
