Is it possible to place a buy order for shares of an IFO stock ahead of time?

I'd like to buy shares of Facebook on the date of its IPO, but I'll be at work on that day and won't be able to pay attention to the stock market while at the office. I usually like to place GTC with extended hours orders ahead of time so I can set it and forget it, as it were. Can you do that for an IPO?
That's IPO, not IFO.
