Why doesn't anybody want to hang out with me?

I am a sophomore in high school right now and for the last 3 years I have had maybe 2 people ask me to hang out maybe twice but that's it. I have asked my friends from school to hang out with me, but they all say yeah then cancel plans last minute or say they can't or are busy for that day then later tweet or post a Facebook status on how much fun they had with other friends... I talk to them during school but that's it after that it's like I don't exist to them. School days, weekend, summer, you name it I'm always alone with nobody to hang out with. I don't know what to do anymore. All I wanted to do is have fun with friends and enjoy life, but instead I feel miserable..

I am so sorry that you have been treated so badly by these people you consider to be your friends. They really are not behaving as a friend to you and obviously have no idea what it means to be a friend at all. Have you ever confronted them when they have let you down and what was their reaction? Perhaps you have one friend in your group whom you could talk to about this who could help you to sort things out. Otherwise, forget about trying to get them to act like they should and instead focus on your out of school interests and the friends you have there. You sound like a lovely person and somebody would be lucky to have you as a friend.
