Is UC San Diego a good school?
Out of all the universities I got accepted to, this was the only one that gave me any financial aid so unless I choose community college, I have to go to UCSD. But is it a good school? How is the campus life?

UC-San Diego is a highly ranked school. See http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreview...diego-1317 Since it is such a good school, the students there will be very bright. And you're talking southern Cali beach - how could campus life be bad?

Of course UCSD is a good school. It is highly ranked. I have heard that is not as social as some other schools. It falls somewhere in the middle. It is in a very nice location, there are tons of things to do nearby the school and many internship opportunities surrounding the area. UCs are research schools so you can volunteer and be involved in the research that they do and you may even get payed to to some research if a professor likes you and wants to hire you.

If you want to make friends, learn more about a particular field, hear people talk about their jobs, get internship opportunities etc. then you should join a club or two all four years that you attend the school. You can join an academic club, society, association etc. that is related to your major and/or your interests. Most clubs will also have facebook pages. I recommend you like several of them to learn more about different clubs that the school has.
Here is their full list of clubs. I recommend you join any academic club for any major that you are interested in and want to learn more about.

They have an extremely good UC San Diego Life facebook page. It tells you how to get involved in the school and take advantage of all of the opportunities that they offer.

I also recommend you like them on their main facebook page to learn more about the school. what research the professors are doing, how to get involved etc. It is very helpful source to learn more about the school.

All the UC schools are considered better than just good. The CSU schools are good. All the UC schools are a rank above that.

While the UCSD campus is a bit away from central San Diego, more in La Jolla, San Diego is one of the finest places on earth to live and there is an incredible amount of stuff to go within an hour on transit.

UCSD is a great school, strong academics, great ranking. I have heard its not that social in general, but again, campus life is what you make out of it. There is still people to meet, new friends to hang out with later on, if you put the effort into meeting more people.
