My name is Karrie and I'm a dead girl with no eyes. If you don't send this to at least 10 people in the next 5 minutes i will come to your room tonight at 3am and tear your eyes out. Don't believe me? Here's proof:
James was a regular 16 year old guy who read this and didn't forward it. Police are still looking for the thing that tore out his eyes. You have 5 minutes to resend this.

It's the Facebook version of what used to be called a "chain letter". I call them "e-chain posts".

The way it used to work in snail mail times was that someone posted a letter to you asking you to send a letter (or a postcard, or money) to the ten people on the supplied list. Then you take the top name off the list, and you added your name on the bottom and sent the letter out to ten people that you know. And then afterwards, if everyone did that, you'd be getting replies from around the world. It was actually quite interesting when done with postcards, especially if you were a stamp collector or just liked getting mail from strangers around the world.

The new way is done with Facebook or other social websites. Someone posts something that tugs at the heartstrings, and then asks you to share the link or to repost the text. It's a nice sentiment, but hardly appropriate for someone (such as a good friend) to say "I will know who is truly my friend" and/or "bad things will happen if you don't post it".

Answer if you want to. But don't believe that anything bad will happen if you don't answer.
