Are the following sentences grammatically correct?
1. Having such life is better than not living.
2. Without understanding the lyrics, the song made me incredibly instinctual. 3. Since I have studied grammar in depth, I am not able to speak English as fluently as I used to speak. 4. I loved the piece of writing you had lately posted on face book. 5. I think that she must be depressed after having her lip surgery done because she looks horrible. Ads |

1. only if the sentence is expanding on something previously stated.
2. correct 3. doesn't make sense in general change the whole sentence 4. "i loved the piece of writing you recently posted on facebook" facebook is a company, one word 5. take out because and separate them with a semicolon ( |

Suggestions: it would be better to say (1) "...such a life...", (3) "...as I used to." (4) "...you recently posted...".
In (2), I don't understand "instinctual". Also, in the way the sentence is written, the first (subordinate) clause refers to the song, and not to "you", which I think should be the intention. It would be better to start "Even though I could not understand the lyrics, the song...". Quite a good effort though. |
