Internet randomly disconnects?

Hey everyone, I have been having an issue with my internet and it just disconnects at random. I am using a wired connection and when it happens my skype will disconnect first then the game will disconnect after about a minute.

While this is happening the internet doesn't work at all on any of the other devices connected wired or wireless, how ever switching lan ports fixes it. This has happened with my old modem and the brand new one I just picked up today to try and solve this issue.

I don't know what to do about this, any help would be appreciated.
