do I need an accelerate tab for?

what does it really do? It downloaded itself on 11/15/13 I just looked and that is when internet explorer stopped wprking. is that the cause, I have plex and netflix.. I am so confused I really do not know what is going on.

Generally, all accelerators are garbage. Even if decent ones exist that aren't just malware, you won't need them anyway. I'd delete it, especially if it downloaded itself. Those are generally the worst.
