Does Vonage Slow Internet Connection?
We've had Vonage since September. We are getting rid of it (I know they will charge us but we can't take it anymore). The main reason is that the voice quality is terrible. Echoes, clicks, not being able to understand people on either end etc. My husband depends on our phone to get his work assignments and it is downright embarrassing. I should have gotten rid of it the first month but foolishly thought it would improve Sad

My question involves how much Vonage has impacted my internet connection. We have Comcast cable and it has always been lightning fast. Now the pages hang, are much slower to load etc. The reason I suspect Vonage is that previously we had AT&T CallVantage VOIP and experienced no internet problems whatsoever. Unfortunately, this service was discontinued by AT&T.

Has anyone else noticed a change in their internet speed and downloading with Vonage? I have run all kinds of virus & other malware checks and nothing shows up.

no VoIP service should have any noticeable effect on your internet speed...

i would go over to http://pingtest.net and see what the speed, jitter and latency of your internet connection is... it sounds more to be a problem with your internet connection that comcast needs to resolve than a problem with vonage....

VoIP normally only requires about 64K
