Why are there so many Facebook pages that make you become a fan to see their content? Are they viruses?

Not necessarily. Some just assume that if you can't see their content until you become a fan, that you will become a fan just to see it and stay a fan, bumping up their fan numbers.

If you find any that are promoting links to malicious sites, you should definitely report them, that way they are removed from Facebook and no longer create any problems for others.

Nope they are not a viruses .. they're made for fun and joyful and some of them are made for disgust though. For me i have over 700 pages and it's not annoying at all .
