How do you choose a url/username that you won't want to change?

I've had at least three blogs before where I would actually post things but the reason I've had more than just the one was not just because I wanted to try a new website but it was because I wanted to change my url.

I'm the same on other sites like twitter or tumblr.

What I want to know is how can I choose a url that I won't want to change later on? What personal tips do you have?

P.S. my blog urls have always been something with a nickname and numbers, usually short but nicknames and numbers can lose significance.
