Internet connection- how do we get wirless internet?

My friend is having a problem with his computer. He had a internet connected from the computer and now he has awirless one. He put his connection router in the kitchen with not a computer hooked up to it. He put the wirless one on his computer but the two computer icons for the internet connection are still there. If it is wirless there is only one there. Please help me to find out how to change the interent to change the icon to one computer.

if i think you're referring to what i think you are the icon that has two computers represents your Local Area Connection (LAN) or your wired connection (through ethernet or USB) and the one computer icon is for your Wireless Network Connection (WLAN). you can go to your network and internet connections through control panel to set one or the other as default for your preferred connection. or you can disable one or the other if you want only one icon to appear on your system tray (bottom right hand corner of your pc screen)
