IE will not open mail found through mail search bar?

I am unable to open mail on one of my yahoo accounts when I find it via the search bar at the top of the inbox. This is extremely frustrating as it can sometimes take an extremely long time to scroll through all of my folders to find an email that I don't remember the location to. Has anyone else ran into this issue, or is there a known fix for the yahoo mail search bar?
Unfortunately deleting all of my emails is not a good option. Most of my email's are important work related material. Surely there has to be a better alternative to "delete all of your inbox".

delete your cookies
do a disk clean up
go to http://www.yahoo.com and click on mail
and delete all of your mail you have in your inbox
see if that help your out.
