no internet connection on ipod?

my ipod touch says that it doesnt have internet connection everytime i use something that requires it but its connected to the wifi in my house and it says it has great signal and everything. i tried turning it off but it doesnt work. my laptop is working fine and i can use the internet but i cant on my ipod. what do i do?

i have an IP address. and it has worked before. it just stopped working about a few days ago

Great signal doesn't mean you have a connection. Look at the status screen on your iTouch and see if you've gotten an IP address from your router (no connection means you haven't). Delete your internet connection on your iTouch and start over. You will have to type in your key if your home WiFi is encrypted.
