Phone Icon on facebook chat?

I want to know exactly what the phone icon on facebook chat means.

Does it mean they're online at the time on their phone? Does it mean they just have their phone turned on? Does it mean they're actually connected to the internet but not accessing facebook?

Also, if a person disappears from the chat list (while they had a phone icon), and then comes back again with the phone icon, does this mean the person was online and then logged out and logged in back again? Or does it mean they just turned their phone off and then on?

✒ there's no such clear cut as from phone or pc, the given info is about how they accessing Facebook, via apk or web;
✒ phone icon/now MOBILE means accessing FB by using apk⇨ which can only be used in phone & tablet;
now MOBILE only appear in green, when not in green it shows as phone icon;
✒ no icon/now WEB means accessing FB via web (either mobile web or full site) ⇨ that might used either by phone, tablet or pc; now WEB only appear in green, when not in green it shows no icon;
✒ green (either by green dot or words in green or both) means they turn on chat for the friend who see that green, thus
• if A turn on chat for all but B, then all A's friends except B will see A in green (=turn on chat);
• if A turn on chat for B only, then only B see A in green, other friend see A not in green (so as if A turn off chat), etc;
✑ green = turn on chat (in the eyes of friend who see that), does not mean that A is online physically (might be sleep, etc), the only sure thing is the device that is online.

So at the end, don't judge your friend's state by it's green or not, by MOBILE or WEB.

Someone might log in through his phone & mobile the same time, and turn on chat on both, now I wonder how FB decide what code to show... ◦°◦нê◦нë◦нê◦нë◦нê◦°◦ ➣ WEB that prevail.

If they answer your chat, then chat, otherwise, don't assume anything, why make life complicated...♡
