Sound turned off in Google Chrome?

So my sound just stopped working out of nowhere. I normally use Google Chrome, checked to see if any of the websites were muted..nope. I also opened the volume mixer for my laptop and Google Chrome wasn't muted. In fact, the green bar still moved up and down but no sound came out. IE and Firefox are fine, but I like Google Chrome the most. please help!!

uninstall and then reinstall it, or check chrome settings

open any youtube video and check sound settings there .. well, it might sound strange - but in some cases that is the simplest solution
