having internet connection and telephone problems?
moved to a new rented house, and having connection problem, the house has two telephone outlets on in the bedroom n one in the corridor.
the problem starts here, i cant get both my internet and telephone to work at the same time, either one of them can be used. so when i receive calls i have a static sound and cannot hear the person at the other end and the internet connection stops.
i have tried to put each one at the diff outlets, but nothing seems to work now?
please help?
yes, i do have a dsl filter an dhave been using it, its not improving the situation at all, i have connected the internet and fone on the same outlet at one time only one works at either time, cant even have the phone connected if i want internet and vice versa. i have done everything i can think of..
at the moment the internet is connected straight to the outlet without the phone being connected, i need help =[

You need to use a 'filter' for the phone socket when Broadband is in place. You can buy them everywhere. Comet, PC World, Maplins etc etc. They plug into the socket and the router connects to one side and the phone to the other.

I assume that you are using DSL for your internet connection. You need a filter between each voice phone and your phone outlet.
I found these listed in a quick search of radioshack.com.
