Pop up says FBI watching me for child porn?
I was browsing the web, when a page popped up saying the FBI was watching me for looking at child porn. I have never done this in my life, so I just ignored it.

As I continued reading, though, I noticed it said "we also noticed you downloading music illegaly" which is something I do a LOT. It was at that point I was getting scared, so I closed the page and stopped reading. Idk if it asked for money, but the page looked like it was created for windows vista in 1997 on dial-up connection.

Should I be concerned? I have norton and it says I have no viruses.

It's just a scam pop up to do exactly what has happened; make you scared, you did the right thing by closing it and ignoring it.

C'mon if they wanted to catch you doing something illegal they wouldn't send you a pop up to warn you!

The FBI doesn't send pop-up windows. It's a phishing scam. Go run your anti-virus.

Hello Reed,

Sorry for the trouble. I am Vineeth and I am from the Norton Support team.

It's a rogueware and you need to remove it. Can you please follow the steps in this support article:

https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/nort...file_en_us

Please let me know if that helps!

Thanks!

Vineeth

You are doing the right thing. The FBI does not send pop ups. They are more likely to pop round your home but not for normal porn. So just ignored it.

It sounds like a scam of some sort.
