be a software developer....you will be moving from job to job, and that can help you move up faster.
DBA means you will be administering databases?...thats stable.
in fact Facebook has so much data, that Marketers receiving the database info dont know how to use all info the properly.
either way, you have to know what you are doing to grow faster.
