is 100.00 mbps a fast internet connection? how do i make it faster?
my connection says it's connected at 100 mbps, this seems really slow since i have heard of speeds of 700 or 800 mbps. i have verizon online dsl and it's supposed to be one of the best. how do i make my internet connection faster?
is there anything else i can do to make my pc faster, i have done the disc cleaunup and defragment, and even a tech guy clean it up, but it's still slow, and it's a pretty new computer. is there anyone out there who knows how to do this stuff???
My connection says 100.0 mbps...not kbps.

Yes that's very good.

Comcast is typically anywhere from 4-6 Mbps, with PowerBoost something like 20.

I dont think you can get anything like 700-800 Mbps in the United States, we actually have pretty slow internet compared to some European/Asian countries. I think Sweden has 1 Gig/s.

the 100 mbs is the maximum speed within your home network if you had a number of computers hooked up to each other in a network - on a router in most cases
what limits you is the speed of your internet connection not even an older 10 speed network card
make sure you run regular spyware scan with updates
this is what slows down most people on the internet more than anything else

some advice here especially for broadband cable internet ( not phone company dsl)

john
trust me on this you DO NOT have a 100mbs INTERNET connection !

the 100mbs is the speed limit of your network card in a land enviroment there is no such thing as a 100mbs internet connection , in the united states most users have either a 768kbs connection a 3mbs or a 6mbs SOME higher priced packages go as high as 15 mbs but they are VERY expensive

The only way to get 100 Mbps of internet is either through a Fiberoptic connection or a microwave radio. As mentioned before, your internal network is what says 100 Mbps and is the capacity for your LAN.

Too keep your computer fast you should always keep an antivirus running. Kaspersky is the best, but Avast is free. Also, if you keep files that you download on an external hard drive, it will speed up normal operations on your computer.
