My laptop internet isn't working!!?

My hp laptop, windows 8, Internet is not working. It works for a while, but then it starts not working and then it closes out or says 'internet explorer. Not working'. I just made two new accounts for my parents, if that's the problem, could I somehow make it work without deleting the accounts. Could someone please help me?!?!??!? Thanks in advance.

One of the first things that you should check to see if the internet is working with either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to see if the error is related to Internet Explorer.
