Help with internet?
We are having an ant problem at my apartment and we sprayed the internet motem with some stuff to help with that, but now my laptop is not registering that I can connect to the internet. It says that there are no networks available, and then I click on troubleshoot and it says that my wireless adapter is turned off or something like that. So now I don't know what to do. The internet works on everyone elses' computers and my kindle but not on my laptop. Can someone please help me? i don't know if is was because we sprayed it or not but it seems to be working fine for everyone else.
*I can't connect*

Right click on your internet icon at the lower right hand corner of the screen and click on open network. Click on set up a new connection or network. Click on connect to the internet. Click next. It should tell you from there how to get on the internet. Otherwise, unplug the modem and wait 1 minute and then, plug it back in to refresh the signal. That should do it. If it still doesn't come on, call your internet provider for help...

Some laptops (especially very portable ones) have a button that disables Wifi. On the Compaq laptop I am using right now, there is a picture of a wireless tower on f12 and a little blue light that shows me Wifi is enabled. On my small laptop it is a special button with a light for enabled/disabling Wifi (not one of the function keys). See of your laptop has such a button and whether it is lit (if it is not lit, try to get it to light)

If the Wifi has ever worked in your laptop than it should already be enabled software-wise. My small HP laptop was a refurb a Wifi was not enabled software-wise when I got it. I had to use HP's Network and Sharing Center and some other settings to enable Wifi. That is separate from the button I can now press to turn Wifi off or on (a power-saving feature).

Um, you shouldn't spray electronics with anything, generally.

Anyway, it sounds like you somehow turned your laptop's wireless card off. First, look on your laptop's side or front or something and see if there isn't a button or a switch that you might have accidentally flipped to turn the wireless off. If there isn't one, if you're on a Mac go to the top where you'll see four wireless bars, click on it and Turn Airport on. If you're on Windows, go to Start then Control Panel and in the search box type 'adapter.' Then find and click on View Connections. Check to see if there's anything disabled, and enable them if they are.
