why is blackops2 freezing?

I have a ps3 and when start bo2 the screeb just turns black and stays that way. not disc version btw

Maybe something to do with the internal hard drive or the installation of Black Ops II.
Is it when you launch BO2 or when you go into a section (Campaign, Multiplayer and Zombies) or when you do a certain thing?

Its corrupted game data. Go to game data utility under games, find bo2 and delete it. Then restart the ps3 in safe mode, and select "restore file system". This will repair any corrupted data on the hard drive. Lastly, redownload/install the game and its patches, you should be good to go.

Note, an interruption of your internet connection during the download will recorrupt the game data. I strongly recommend using a wired connection for downloads

If it's not disk-based, you've got file corruption. Delete the game and download it again.
