What's the main difference between the iPhone and the iPod touch?
My understanding is that the 4th generation iPod touch has Wi-Fi as well as the capacity for apps, video games, and board games, and things like FaceTime, Skype and Instagram can be added. I've noticed that you can also take screen shots, play music through the built-in speakers (without headphones), and take great pictures with the two embedded cameras, none of which I can do with my current 1st gen touch.

So my question is this: what does the iPhone have that the 4th gen iPod touch doesn't, apart from the phone function?

The only difference is that you can call and text someone without an app.

I think the only difference besides phone calls is that iPhone has siri. My iPod touch is just like a mini computer. I've downloaded the app talk free and it let's me make phone calls. ( they are all ob speaker phone though) my own phone number for calling and texting. Pretty cool.
