Why is this site so glitchy ever since Marissa Mayer took over?
When I view my question in Google Chrome, the answer is scrolling to the bottom out of view endlessly. What's the point of having Yahoo Answers if we can't see the answers to our questions?

The Yahoo Answers team is working on methods of increasing advertising revenue. One of the recent successes was requiring a lot more clicking to navigate the site in the new purple format. Each page view gets them more revenue from the advertisers.

Making it hard to answer a question, also makes members more prone to accidentally click on an advertisement. And that also makes money.

Soon the site will be generating tons of revenue.

I am having the same issue! When I switch to my other browser-Opera, I usually get the message that it's not supported. Really has nothing to do with Marissa Mayer. I suspect you are making the association because of her former connection to Google and the issue with the browsers.

I LOVE my re-vamped Flickr account. I have never had issues with my Yahoo mail, either. No phone/Yahoo issues. I like some of the additions to Yahoo answers, but prefer the old format. If they could incorporate the old format with the new additions, that would be great, but we are all still here using it, aren't we? She is banking on the premise that Yahoo is a habit. The powers that be wanted these changes long before MM came to Yahoo.

Yeah, she needs to hit the road! It totally has to do with her- it started going downhill after she took over. It's not only YA but the email, other parts of Yahoo that have been discontinued or majorly changed, that people are getting fed up with Yahoo. What a shame, Yahoo was awesome for so many years.

Edit: Yes, people are still here using answers, but I noticed a definite change in the number of answers I get to my questions since the change, many less, more unanswered- people have definitely left it since then. It also seems like less questions are being asked, when you look in some sections and see it the last new question in that section was not one that was asked in the last hour.

My iPad scrolls too, until this question-all day today.

I blame Mayer b/c I can't use half or more of Yahoo features which used to work fine. She's overpaid and had over-grand ideas of "improvements" which do not work and ruin that feature.

If we quit using Yahoo, it will be right where it deserves to be, gone from terrible management!

Seems she butted heads w/ Yahoo's prestigious design chief & senior VP, Tim Parsey, who left the co. after only 2 yrs.

Abt 6 mos after he left, the email collapse started.

They're trying to make this site into a social networking site. When you logon, the first thing you see is a list of all your contact's activities - who got best answer, who answered a question, who voted for best answer. It looks suspiciously like Facebook. It even groups actions together (eg shows two different contacts answered the same question), again, just like Facebook.

This is either an answers site or a social networking site. If it's an answers site they should bring back the old design. If it's a social networking site, they need to reign in the report monkeys, stop deleting my questions and answers in the politics section, and stop issuing "violation notice emails" for "chatting" and "ranting". I've never had to deal with a suspended account or deleted content on Facebook, nor do report monkeys create any real problem for the users on Facebook.

Business-dogma says making changes is always better than leaving them as they are, and that users will leave if you don't change things.

Another possible factor is that Yahoo is an american company, subject to american (quick and dirty) business mentality. I have my suspicion that changes would be more thorough and more though-out if it were a german one.
