Does Google impose a duplicate content penalty? Are clone websites penalized by the search engines?
As a relatively experienced player in the SEO game, I have always taken the view that Google and the other search engines did penalize duplicate content.
However, there seems to be a lot of wide spread confusion regarding what Google's strict definition of duplicate content is, that is, if the rules apply to similar content hosted on the same website (domain) or identical content copied or duplicated from one domain to another. I would love to hear other people's opinions and views on this, if possible, include a link or resource or detail your personal experience as to how you formed a view on this matter. http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin...swer=66359 http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...607AAbHF59 http://www.webpronews.com/google-busts-t...th-2009-09 Ads |
