Sims 3 help?

I need help with my sims 3 game.

i want to make my games story progression better . i would like to download a mod but my computer is bad and so internet connection is not working properly. are there any cheats that i could use to make my game better? is there another way of downloading mods?

Download the mod on a computer that works (it's a rar file). Put that on a jump drive. Put the jump drive in your crappy computer. Copy the file over. Install.
