The G20 is a grouping of wealthy industrialised nations that meet to coordinate and discuss economic policy. It sometimes also discusses political issues.

As for why politicians do not overshare like a teenager on Facebook, diplomacy is hard enough when a couple diplomats or national leaders are exercising it. When 300,000,000 people all want a voice at a table, there is no diplomacy. (This is why we have representative democracies rather than direct ones.)
