how to make money from a website?

My friend and I made a website for fun. It isn't much but we are getting about 3000 people on our site a month now. It isn't a blog it just has info. We don't sell anything on our website and we have nothing to sell. I think in the next couple months we may have 3500 hits a month. Is that enough to make any money and how can we do that?
We were hoping to maybe put some ads but are not sure where to start with that or how to do it.
