Change your thinking to content, not SEO. Do the basics (title, meta description) and use keywords naturally in headings and text. Don't overdo them - search engines are very sophisticated.

Content should be well-written with a good amount of text to balance links, especially sales links. Make sales links nofollow. Don't link to dodgy pages (bad Clickbank sellers, porn, Acai berries, all the usual overdone stuff). Don't have too many links on one page. Don't have links that aren't relevant to content.

There has been a couple of updates since the Panda update, the Penguin update being the latest. I have a blog on the MINT site (in the source) that explains the penguin update.

Now Google are looking for good, unique content that's rich in keywords. Link building is taking a back-seat as Google look to decrease spam. Google+ is also becoming more influential in SEO as the Google look to get more people to start using G+.

Hope that helps!

After Panda and Peguin updates, no black-hat or grey-hat techniques would work. New SEO SEO mechanics have evolved. Now, Google does not provide hight weitage to PRs, backlinks and keyword density. The new messages from Google are :content is the king, Google authorship, Google plus and some interesting factors like pagespeed and others.

My advice to clients has been to focus on creating the best, most useful content imaginable. Anchortext-rich backlinks, header tags, alt tags, etc. aren't so much a factor as they used to be. Just focus on writing good content with helpful images and you will be 80% of the way there with improving your search optimization.

Panda usually affect the whole websites, not pages. So first of all you need to make your site is useful for users and clients and bother not only about each page rankings and traffic, but care about whether the clients get the right information from your website.

All in all these SEO post-Panda tips are all the same. Quality, unique content, careful research, a big NO to spamming and overoptimized pages.
