problems with downloading with Google Chrome?

I have been having problems downloading things with google chrome. When you download something, chrome manages them at the bottom of the screen while showing you its progress, represented with a green circle around the file and the actual progress represented in kb, mb, gb. Lately when my files are done downloading and it says ex: 1.1gb/1.1gb and shows the green circle fully around the file and 0 seconds left on the timer the file just stays like that and it never really finishes downloading because when a file is done, the green circle goes away and you can open it, but when you click on the file it just says it will open when it is finished. Any advice or knowledge of this problem is welcome, Thanks
