A few questions about promoting my Youtube channel?

Hi,

I am planning to do Youtube videos of music, so song covers and also original songs made on the computer, and also I'll do some other stuff like post videos of stuff I've been doing, my opinions on certain topics and some other random stuff too.

So, the question is, should I make a blog or a social networking account? I honestly don't want to use social networks like Tumblr and Twitter and would rather have a Wordpress, but I am taking what will get me the most subscribers into account.

I'd like to add that I don't have my new account up. On my other one I have a video of me playing a game that somehow got over 5,000 views.

YouTube is the most popular thing going -- and it's the ONLY "old" social platform
that's growing bigger and bigger every year.  Look at what's happened to websites
like Myspace, Friendster, Bebo, Orkut, Flickr, & even this place: Yahoo! Answers.

The same is eventually gonna happen to: Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram, Pinterest,
Twitter, Wordpress, etc., but YouTube will 'live on'.

You state "I am taking what will get me the most subscribers into account".  Well,
there is only 1 site that has stood the test of time.
