Run an ethernet cable from the pc to the router. Most wireless routers have ports on the back for non-wireless network components. You just need an ethernet port on the back of the pc.

I'm not sure if i fully understand your question, but if your wondering how your laptop connects is able to activate the internet on your other PC it would probaly be something to do with your ISP (internet service provider) mine has a login program that connects from any computer on my home network and is shared between all. Hope that helps.

Connect the PC with a crossover cable directly to the laptop or use a hub/switch.

You need to setup ICS (Internet Connection Sharing). You can go to Control Panel > Network Connections. And click on Setup a home network. This is a Wizard to guide you through. It will allows options such as "other computers connect to the internet through this computer" etc. And you can choose what ports to use.

Another way is to right mouse click your wireless internet connection. Select Properties and choose the Advanced tab and check "allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection"
