Which one is the best? In UK and when you go abroad?

The price!

Satnav connects and displays without needing an internet connection Google does. So you may loose navigation assistance when you travel into an area without WiFi (tunnels and such) plus some areas don't have any free Wifi so you would need to connect via 3G/4G and that costs especially if you are on a foreign network as a guest.

Satnav only needs power from the 12V socket in the car and a clear view of the sky. Plus your phone is freed up for thing like telephoning.

Satellite Navigation is just to help you navigate and it probably uses a GPS to help with that

and GPS is Global Positioning System which tells you where you are not how to get there

and the road map is much cheaper but kind of a hassle when your trying to get somewhere and you don't have a copilot but the same time having number of benefits like Trev explain above Satnav work with out internet connection GPS required a internet connection in my opinion Satnav best option

Technically nothing. All do the same thing in pretty much the same way. Probably Google Maps would be better since many are integrating that into their Sat Navs
