Can the school see what you searched?

Okay so i forgot i was connected to my schools wifi, and i searched methods of suicide and it said this has been blocked due to blah blah blah, so of course i freaked out because they're going to think im suicidal when im not. So can they see what i searched? The school gave out individual hotspots for the student to use wherever and whenever. So can they?!

They can. They can see what you searched, but the probability of it actual being seen is very small. I don't know how many people go to your school, but if they all searched off of that internet, there would be too much to read individual. Even if they only checked blocked sites, there are so many. I do all kinds of research on my computer at school for some projects that are quite rebellious, and of which I am sure the school would not like me to do research on. I have never been stopped or asked, so why should you?

Yes. If they have the budget, they can monitor everything you do and track you using your MAC address. If you use the school's computers they will definitely be able to track you if they have the required structure. My recommendation is to use their wifi signal and use Tor web browser.

Schools can (theoretically) see any and all web traffic you do while connected to their internet. Now it isn't likely but it is possible

The other answerers are correct that the school has the capability to check for searches done on their equipment and wifi.

Right now, because of cyber-bullying and teen suicide, they may have a system set up to search by keyword, so, it's possible that your search will be seen. Don't be surprised if you are called into the office to discuss the matter.
